I recieved word tonight that W.Bro. Lundsford is doing well. There was some concern that he had some heart trouble, but it was either pancreatic or gall bladder pain.
Tonight I attended the inspection of Huber Heights #777 in the FC Degree. It was a wonderful evening that included the witnessing an Air Force Captain receive an Honorary Membership, as well as the passing of an Air Force Tech Sergeant to the FC Degree. Another highlight was the attendance of nine brothers from Edward Dugger Jr. Military Lodge No. 123 (PHA). Pictures can be see at our Grand Master’s Blog: gmohio.blogspot.com.
Worshipful Brother Reece suffered a heart attack on Monday. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. It is my understanding that he is in Mercy Fairfield. I will pass along more information as it becomes available.
Brother, Masonry means much more
Than the wearing of a pin,
Or carrying a paid up dues receipt
So that the lodge will let you in.
You can wear an emblem in your coat,
From your fingerflash a ring,
But if you are not sincere at heart
This doesn’t mean a thing
It is merely an outward sign
To show the world that you belong,
To that great fraternal brotherhood
That teaches right from wrong.
What really counts lies buried deep
Within the human breast,
Till Masonic teaching brings it out
And puts it to the test.
If you practice out of lodge
The things you learn within,
Be just and upright to yourself
And to you fellowmen.
Console a brother when he’s sick,
Assist him when in need,
Without a though of personal reward
For any act or deed.
Walk and act in such a way
The world without will see,
That only the best can meet the test
Laid down by Masonry
Be always faithful to your trust
And do the best you can.
Then you can promptly tell the world
You’re a Mason and a man!

I can speak on behalf of everyone that attended the Valley of Cincinnati bridges program when I say that we had a great time despite the weather and road situations. Washington Lodge had three members pass into the scottish rite body of freemasonry on that day. Brother Ryan Napper, Ken Napper and Sean Carr received the 4th and 30th degrees on that date. Also present to represent Washington Lodge was Rick Shields, Matt Reed and Jamie Isaacs. Congratulations brethren and welcome to another door of the hallway of freemasonry and what it has to offer!
