Brethren,

            Thank You for visiting the Washington Lodge #17 Website. Freemasonry is the largest and oldest fraternity in the world and is live and well in our community. Washington Lodge #17 members compose of men from every walk of life including factory workers, teachers, sales people, business owners, police, fire, military personnel and from many, many more walks of life. Washington Lodge #17 has a long, rich tradition in the city of Hamilton, and its members pride itself on being productive members of our community.

           Masonry has meant many things to me over my life. Like many brothers I was introduced to Masonry through a relative, and at the time I really didn’t understand. However, as time passes I am learning more and more of the history of Masonry and what it means to live the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. I have witnessed smiles from needy people receiving groceries from Masons. I have witnessed a smile on a brothers face that sits in a nursing home when you stop in just to say hi, and I have witnessed the smiles and the gleams in brothers eyes after they have done something wonderful for somebody else in need. Masonry extends itself in every walk of life, and it is through our members and the actions of our members that Masonry will continue to thrive into the future.

           Over the past five years I have met a number of wonderful people in my journey through Masonry, and in the future I hope to meet many more.

           Brethren, please come out to lodge and see us. I look forward to meeting as many brethren as I can in the next few months as my tenure wraps up.
